  i remember when i was new in the "troof", i was walking in a mall and a jw window washer saw me, and asked, "what are you doing here"?.

  yeah, he had a good reason to be at the mall, cause he was washing windows, but i had no business there.... i guess he thought that i was being seduced by material stuff.... and i was stupid enough, not to tell him, mind your own business fu**er....

  once i told the P.O.'s wife that i was gonna go on a preventative hair-loss medication and she said, "why would you do that when the end is so close?" that was 10 years ago. i wonder why you'd brush your teeth in the morning when it's just wasting valuable time that could be spent in service! (i mean, the end could come before noon!)

  i'm just an average guy that been there, done that in the jw domain :) .

  i reached my "zenith" lol in such domain at the early age of 20 (i'm now 29) while expanding the work in various foreign language congs as a ms with almost all elder privileges except participating in jc's...the only jc i took part was mine last year :).

  by the way, my last wife, a christian, caught me several times reading your posts... she thinks that all of us (including myself) are just a bunch of frustrated individuals...oh well no wonder she left :).

  The Amazing Watchtower Society

  i remember hearing so much about how advanced things were in bethel.

  i remember hearing about how technologically advanced things were there, that they used the latest, greatest gadgets, the best quality material to manufacture books and tapes, how efficiently things ran, how clean things were, blah blah blah.

  also, the "org behind the name" video helped reinforce that.. after reading the "two week consulting trip to bethel" and my own experience fixing those damn kingdom melody tapes, i realize it's all bullcrap.. what are your experiences with "bethel technology"?.

  well they still deserve credit for the MEPS thing... but as for stuff running efficiently, how can it ever be inefficient when people work for pennies an hour? NIKE is run efficiently, no?

  What effect does 'Apostate Pressure' have on the bOrg?

  will increased pressure - pickets, websites, books, letters to fellow witnesses, have a positive or negative impact on the ultimate goal most apostates have - seeing the organization eventually crumble and fall?.

  my take is that more pressure is good.

  it makes the 'real personality' of the organization express itself in greater oppression, more demands, greater efforts to isolate the flock from education, career, family, reality.. eventual result of oppression is rebellion.

  it's hard to say... most people need to be ready to hear certain things, otherwise it goes in one ear and out the other...

  i remember seeing apostates hold signs at conventions (and i remember what they specifically said), but it had no effect on me because they were mad apostates who had an agenda.

  apostate information to witnesses is like "the truth coming in the form of a watchtower" to a householder... it's only appreciated by receptive ears, to those who are in a state of readiness to the words being spoken or read.

  i am not a jw but have had the pleasure of reading, studying and associating to a small degree.

  i have been reading with interest the societies involvement in the un as ngo.

  to be a roman citizen was not to oppose jehovah or jesus or christianity.

  jehovah's witnesses are not allowed to join the YMCA because of it's involvement with christendom and babylon the great. jehovah's witnesses are not allowed to go to church bake sales or shop at the salvation army. it is less about the fact that the JW's joined the UN and more about the hypocricy of them joining the "wild beast" of revelation. it's also about the fact that they did it secretly and stopped their association only when it became public.

  also, if you want to talk about "scriptural truths", well, i don't know where to begin... but jesus certainly did not die on a stake. and he certainly did not limit the partakers of communion to 144,000. birthdays are not condemned in the bible. Paul said that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend. jesus is not michael the archangel. and many other diefied doctrines regarding jesus, the JW's have skewed to make him less divine/more human.
